LUBBESRUST FARM
Is part of a private game & wilderness reserve on the northern bank of the Limpopo River in the south-eastern part of the Tuli Block in Botswana, a low risk malaria area.
This shareholder owned reserve of 20.500 hectares is large enough to sustain a natural predator-prey balance.
Savannah, mountains and bush come together in the Tuli Block, creating a unique ecosystem that supports an incredible biodiversity.
Four European friends and shareholders were lucky to have the opportunity to buy a piece of farmland, Lubbesrust, incorporated into the reserve.
During the past three years a dream was realized: Lubbesrust lodge. The eco-lodge was built for the use of the friends and their guests only, but with their busy lives in Europe, they decided to rent out “their home in the bush” on a limited basis.
Rhinos, elephants, lions, leopards and hippos roam the vast area of the reserve on what was once farmland but is being restored into its true wilderness state. The reserve is a birding paradise as it is home to 350 different species of birds.
The fully fenced game & wilderness reserve offers an excellent network of tracks, leading up to a variety of waterholes, picnic spots and viewing hides. Encountering other explorers is a rarity, with only limited tourism being permitted.
The reserve is onlya 450 km drive from Johannesburg airport, taking an easy 5 or 6 hours to complete by car. An ‘international’ airstrip makes it possible to also fly to the reserve.
Situated perfectly for guests who would like to add a Botswana experience at the end of their South African trip and for guests who would like to start in the Tuli Block as part of their self-drive safari in Botswana.
